Our cancer educators inform members of the community about cancer prevention and detection. These specialists coordinate the Sentara Cancer Network involvement at screening events, health fairs, speaking engagements and other community affairs. In 2018, more than 15,000 individuals participated in community cancer events. We also support fundraisers for local and national nonprofit cancer organizations, such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life®, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night® and Susan G.
